🐾 MEET APOLLO! 🐾

This handsome 3-year-old, 93 lb boy is a striking mix of 3/4 Weimaraner and 1/4 Great Dane — and he’s ready to find his forever family!

Apollo came to us as an owner surrender from a loving family who simply became overwhelmed — sometimes life changes and even the best homes can’t keep up with a dog his size, and that’s okay. It’s his turn for a fresh start.

Apollo is trim, fit, and truly turn-key — the kind of dog that makes adopting easy. He’s house trained, great with kids (just remember, he’s a big guy!), and does wonderfully with other dogs. He’s remarkably respectful and gentle with his canine companions — he currently lives with a grumpy little chihuahua who has actually taken a liking to him, because Apollo is so careful and gentle with the little guy. He’s also doing great on leash. Cats are still a question mark, but we’re happy to do a meet-and-greet to find out.

What makes Apollo so special is how versatile he is. One day he’s happily running up and down sand dunes soaking up every ounce of adventure, and the next he’s perfectly content chilling at home. He can be left alone without any worries (just keep an eye on those counters — those long legs of his can reach further than you’d think! 😄). At night, he curls up on the floor right by his foster’s bed — he doesn’t even get on the furniture.

Apollo would be an amazing fit for a first-time dog owner or anyone looking for a low-maintenance, easygoing companion who’s just as happy on a hike as he is on the couch (well, next to the couch — he stays off the furniture and sleeps on the floor by his foster’s bed!). He’s also truly excellent off leash, and he loves his toy basket and just wants somewhere to call home.
