Mile High Weimaraner Rescue’s (MHWR) mission is to rescue and successfully re-home stray, abandoned, or surrendered Weimaraners, giving priority to those in Colorado. We partner with professionals to provide medical care, training resources, and breed education.

Through January 2020, we have rescued over 1000 Weims.

We are a non-profit charitable 501(c)(3) corporation; donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

A Board of Directors is responsible for the stewardship of the MHWR.

Past directors were Penny Smith, Michelle Daum and Darci Kunard

We currently take-in and re-home approximately 40 Weims per year.

We are an all-volunteer, foster-based organization with no salary expense or physical facility. Our work is done by teams of volunteers dedicated to Weimaraner Intake, Medical Care, Foster Care, Transportation, Adoption, Website Management, Fundraising/Community Events, and Social Media presence.

MHWR holds a current Pet Animal Care Facilities License (PACFA) issued by the State of Colorado.
