🐾 Meet Jack – Your Loyal Shadow and Walking Buddy! 🐾
🧬 Heartworm Positive (treatment covered)

Jack is an 8-year-old gentle regular sized Weim (about 75 lbs) with a heart full of love and a fresh start ahead of him. This sweet boy spent his life in Texas on a sun porch with another dog, with yard access and freedom to roam. After his dog companion passed, Jack began to bark more—he missed his friend—and sadly, his family could not cope.

Despite needing full vetting when he arrived (only had puppy vaccines!), Jack is healthy, strong, and ready for the next chapter of his life. He is heartworm positive but can go through treatment in a foster or adoptive home—all expenses covered by the rescue.

Since coming to Colorado, Jack has blossomed:
✅ House trained
✅ Learning leash manners
✅ LOVES other dogs (though struggles saying hello on leash- wants to pull hard!!)
✅ Enjoys long walks (yes, miles!)
✅ No signs of aging—just energy and love!

Jack isn't a fan of crates, but he can be left home alone just fine. He does bark for about 10 minutes when you leave—so no apartments or shared walls for this vocal guy. He doesn't destroy anything, just makes his feelings known! The worst he has done is pull down all the winter jackets to curl up on them and wait for you.

He's a true companion dog—he loves to know where his people are and likes to be close by. Jack is sweet and gentle, and when he’s feeling a little anxious, he’ll self-soothe by "nooking" on a toy or his blanket (adorable, we know).

🐾 May be OK with cats – we can test!
🐾 Still learning polite greetings on leash (he gets excited!)
🐾 Not a candidate for apartment life
🐾 Perfect for a home with another dog, or humans who are home more than not

Jack is ready for someone to give him the love and stability he deserves. Could that be you?

📩 Apply to foster or adopt Jack today and help him finish his heartworm treatment surrounded by love.
