Eddie

A loving boy looking for a loving golden years spot!

Meet Eddie — a 7-year-old blue Weimaraner with a heart of gold and a wonderfully mellow soul. Eddie spent his life in a busy, loving home with kids and a feline friend, so he’s beautifully socialized, gentle with visitors, and great at making new people feel welcome. He’s the kind of dog who greets you with a soft gaze, follows you around the house for company, then settles quietly for his nap without a fuss.

Eddie already knows sit and paw, usually comes when called, and mastered a dog door quickly. He walks politely on a loose leash most of the time (strong when excited, but responsive to attention), doesn’t counter-surf, and isn’t a jumper — he’s very trainable and eager to please. He slept in a crate in his previous home and now prefers a cozy dog bed; he’s content, resilient, and not clingy.

He’s good with other dogs, and he lived peacefully with a cat before — though a calm, slow introduction would be best in a new home. Eddie loves chew toys and nylon bones, tolerates baths sometimes, and isn’t a fan of nail trims. Foodwise, he has favorites  and enjoys occasional people-food treats like chicken, sweet potatoes, berries, and peanut butter.

A few things to know: Eddie itches sometimes and may benefit from grain-free food and regular skin care; he might have some mild hearing loss, so visual cues and patience help; and he’s easier on and off the car when lifted due to him being overweight. He’s neutered and vet-checked, and despite a little initial sadness after a change, he’s proving to be a cheerful, cuddly companion who quickly warms up and loves affection — especially ear and belly rubs. He def needs to lose some weight and needs some consistent excercise to get him back in summer shape!

Eddie is the perfect match for someone who wants a calm, affectionate, well-mannered companion who loves being near people, enjoys gentle walks and chew-time, and is ready to give and receive quiet, steady love. Come meet Eddie — you may find he’s exactly the missing piece to your home.
