Special dogs come into rescue all the time, and 2 yr old Weim mix (possibly with lab), smallish Ziggy is one of those that has touched our hearts as much as one can. Removed from a terrible situation in New Mexico, Ziggy arrived completely shut down and unsure of the world. He has taken tiny paw prints in rescue to re-engage with the world at large. He has so much love to give and we are starting to see glimpses of his affection and adoration, but still has his own journey to follow, and it is a slow one, to trust humans, sounds and life. He is house trained and working on his leash walking- the world is just a bit scary. He has no desire to chase cats or other animals and he would love to live with another confident dog to teach him to ‘dog’or can be on his own. He is also fine with older children who can be patient with him. We are looking for that special home that will have the affection and patience to continue on this journey with him and bring him back to love and life. Nothing will make you feel more like a hero than when he wags his tails at you for the first time, or gives you his first kiss.
