MHWR was delighted to partner with Weim Rescue of Texas in a huge shut down of a commercial breeding operation. Carlie is one of the 8 ladies we took in and is as sweet as the other girl that came in with her- but with a bit more energy as she loves a game of fetch! She settled into home life quickly, learning to potty outdoors and the house rules super quickly. She would do well in a home with other dogs, or on her own and she is ok left alone roaming.
Her foster dad reports ‘Carlie's just got a great personality, well adjusted and fun to be with. She LOVES tennis balls and playing fetch. I took her to a dog park as well as a restaurant, and she was great. Gets along well with all the dogs and people there. As you can see from the pictures, she has no problem getting on furniture (which i allow) and cuddling/napping. She is really good on a leash, doesn't pull and checks back in regularly. She doesn't heel, but it probably wouldn't take long for her to learn. She is good outside alone in the backyard and has no interest in escaping or jumping the fence and has learned how to use the dog door. She doesn't like going down stairs, but I think she's just not used to them yet and we are working on it.’
Are you looking for a fun, easy going hiking/ ball playing companion? Carlie likes kids of all ages, but unknown with cats.
